LOVE HAPPENS

Documentary Wedding Photography
Rooted in Story. Refined in Style.

Weddings in the Hare made of fleeting moments — a squeeze of the hand, a quiet breath before walking down the aisle, the way your people gather around you when it matters most.

My approach is documentary at heart, with an editorial eye shaped by a background in design and visual storytelling. I won’t turn your day into a photoshoot. Instead, I create space for you to be present while I observe, anticipate, and capture what unfolds naturally.

The result is imagery that feels honest, artful, and deeply personal — photographs that hold both the energy of the celebration and the subtle in-between moments you might otherwise miss.

Two men sharing a warm embrace; one kissing the other's cheek while the other smiles with eyes closed. They are standing against a metallic, textured background.

For Couples Who Want to Feel Like Themselves

Most of my clients are NYC-based couples who choose the Hudson Valley for their weddings because of its landscape, architecture, and sense of escape. They care about great food, thoughtful design, and time spent with the people they love.

They are often planning celebrations that feel:

— Elegant but relaxed
— Personal rather than performative
— Design-aware without being overly staged
— Joyful, emotional, and a little bit unconventional

If you want to be fully present on your wedding day — not managing a production — you’re in the right place.

Two women are holding hands and laughing at a wedding ceremony outdoors, surrounded by floral arrangements and greenery.

The people you love.
The places that matter.
A day that feels like yours.

Documentary First. Editorial When It Matters.

You won’t spend your day posing endlessly. I step in with gentle direction when helpful — during portraits, family photos, or moments when a little guidance creates something extraordinary — then step back so the real story can happen.

Expect photographs that feel:

— Natural and emotionally grounded
— Visually refined without being forced
— Attentive to light, composition, and atmosphere
— Focused on connection over performance

The goal is not perfection. It’s truth, beauty, and memory.

One of the best wedding photographers in the Hudson Valley, Diane Stredicke of Rhinebeck, NY.

You’ll spend most of your wedding day with me — from the quiet of getting ready to the last songs of the night.

So it matters who that person is.

You want someone steady. Kind. Experienced enough to anticipate what’s coming, and calm enough to handle whatever isn’t.

I’m a Hudson Valley–based wedding photographer, working with couples across New York for over a decade. I’m drawn to the real and the unexpected — the in-between moments, the deep breaths, the laughter that interrupts everything.

That’s where the photographs live. Timeless images that hold your love in the middle of this busy, beautiful world.

Hey there -I’m Diane.
